There was laughter in the Sydney Divorce Court recently when a petitioner related what lie had written to his wife, lTon* whom, he desired to be divorced on the ground of her desertion. She is at- present in England, where the pia-ir were married, but lived together for only 1.4 days, the husband being ordered away on active service during the war. AVhen drafted to Australia, he sent third-class steamer tickets to his wife, and asked her to join him here. The wife, however, re-i fused to travel third-class, and returned the tickets. “Then,” said the husband, “I replied that she had better wait for the Duke of York, and travel with him to Australia on the Renown.”
