The new denaturing of alcohol formula, substituting aide hoi for pjridine, becomes effective on April 1. 'The change' eliminates a deadly poison and inserts a liquid absolutely undrinkable. Dr. Doran, chief prohibition chemist, said: “Aldehol is oxidised or burned kerosene oil, having a smell similar to fumes from an automobile exhaust with too rich an oil mixture. The taste is very nauseating, and persons who attempt to drink liquor containing aldehol will lie violently sick ml the stomach, but will suffer no serious effects unless it is taken in huge: quanOfficials declare that bootleggers have already engaged expert chemists to discover if aldehol can ne eliminated from alcohol.
