Entries in the horse-leaping were not quite so strong as usual, hut several good animals weir© entered. The draughts are a good strong class, vith kevn competition in the mare class. The sheep a!re it particularly good section, especially in the fats, which the' judge;considered to be as good as any he had seen at a North Island show. A feature of these fat sheep is that all are prime. In the Southdowns, A.. A. Venry (Waitotara) scored the championship for the ewe, and F. Besley (Whenuakura) the championship for the ram. The dairy section is not large, but of very good class. A special feature is the Jersey calves, which are particularly good and even. • The fat cattle also' are very strong.
