COMPROMISE REACHED. EVACUATION OF FRENCH TROOPS. 61 CABLE-PRESS ASSOOIATIONvCOPV RIGHT. GENEVA, March 12. r lhe controversy regarding the Saar Vakey has •resulted in a unanimous compromise by which a new force, controlled by a. governing commission, restricted to a maximum of 800 men. will primarily be a police force, but, only employable in grave circumstances. Dr. Sti-esem.aun wanted the force to be international in character, and delivered, at-a meeting of the Council of the League of Nations, an impassioned speech, whereupon M. Dr land expressed the opinion that Dr. Stre.seamnn Was using a club -to slay .a mouse. Sir Austen Chamberlain, in a mediatory speech, pointed out that Dr. St"e»emaim *bad gained nearly everything be demanded. Unanimity wn.s, reached when the Connell agreed that th© present French must be evacuated within three months. The Council resolved that children O-IO f | lring only Polish would not he admis sable to German .schools.
