DAIRY PRODUCE PROBLEMS
CONDITION OF LONDON MARKET « ° • PRIME MINISTER’S STATEMENT RECENT CABLE MESSAGE REPLY BY MR J. R. CORRIGAN The position of New Zealand dairy produce on the London market is admitted to be far from satisfactory, and has been forming the subject, during the last few days, of anxious consideration by those intimately associated with the industry and by the dairy farmers as well. A statement, published below, was made by the Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates, yesterday regarding the situation, in which he made reference to his interviews with trade representatives in London, and also to some of factors which were having an adverse effect upon New Zealand produce.
Yesterday afternoon a meeting of the Federation of Taranaki Cooperative Dairy Factories also considered the position, a recent cable message from London containing the opinion of an English authority forming the central topic for discussion, in the course of which Mr J. R. Corrigan made a statement covering the Dairy Board’s policy.
