HOW SNAKES WERE EXPELLED PROM IRELAND? When the fine old St. Patrick first went over to Ireland the country was . over-run with wretched snakes. He determined to get rid of them, so drove them all into the sea. One huge venomous ( monster refused to go, so he made a box and enticed it in, then shut the lid down tightly and threw it far out to sea.
