. ABOUT 1000 SUFFERERS. MADRID, Jan. 3. The Government has decided to devote 12,000,000- pesetas (about £375, : 000) to the .improvement of the health service of the country. Among t-lio purposes for which the sum will be employed are, primarily, the construction of several homes and a sanatorium for the treatment of tuberculosis cases and an institution for lepers. Although trie number of lepers in Spain is estimated at about 1000, there is only one special hospital for them, and that is in thd Valencia ‘region. It is now proposed to erect one in the province of Granada for the treatment of cases in Andalusia and Galicia.
