To-morrow evening; the Rev. David Calder, 8.A., Dominion, secretary of the British and Foreign Bible Society, will address: a .public meeting in the Parish Hall, Kapongs. Mr Oalder is following up a. policy of extending the activities of the society in New Zealand and forming branches in all districts. He hopes that New Zealand’s annual l quota will he raised to £9OOO within two years, and he has done much in the'east few months towards reaching this goal. Recently Mr Calder has been organising the Hawera. district. The society is non-denomina-tion al, and last year distributed ten million publications containing the Scriptures.
