CATTLE SHOW.

OTA KEIIO —NEXT SATURDAY. A USEFUL. INSTITUTION. For eight years the Otakeho branch of the Farmers’ Union, one of the most progressive in the Dominion, has organised and carried through a show of cattle, open to all breeds, and designed to encourage the fostering of tne dairy type of animal. Each year there has been evidenced a growth in the extent of the show, proving the value of encouraging utility in the breeding of cattle for the dairy herd. In addition, another educational feature is the demonstration given each year by a man of wide and practical experience in dairy stock. This year —the show will be held at Mr. E. T. Burke’s paddock, South Road, Utakeho, on Saturday next—the demonstrator will be Mr. E. Griffiths, ol New Plymouth, an acknowledged autnority. Interest is growing rapidly in the show, and it is probable that the entries will constitute a record. The show also attracts a very large attendance from various parts of the l district, and it is expected that this year’s display will prove to be no exception to the rule. Judging will commence at 10.30 a.m. Luncheon and afternoon tea, which departments tu'e in the very capable hands of a strong ladies’ committee, will be obtainable on the ground.
