HAWERA SCHOOL.

VISIT OF BOARD MEMBERS. Messrs S. O. Smith (chairman), A. Lees (member), H. W. Insull (secretary), and Moore (architect) of the Taranaki Education Board arc paying a. visit "of inspection to South Taranaki. They visited the Hawera primary school in company with Mr J. W. Harding (chairman of the school committee) and Mr F. A. Bates (headmaster).

The dental clinic was the first department of the school to receive consideration. The questions of heating for the winter, of procuring a steriliser and additional cupboard accommodation were discussed. The members went into the matter of tho urgent necessity of replacing the infant department with up-to-date buildings, as the nucleus for a new school. The visiting members were all agreed upon tho urgent necessity of the approved scheme being carried out. Later the board members proceeded to tho Whakamara school.
