HAWERA TRAINING NOTES. (By “'Limited.”) A strong wind down the back straight and the track in tip-top order facilitated fast times being registered by everything that galloped this morning. Bevis and Benzora were first out, and a great try-out was looked forward to, but owing to Bevis’s mulishness the trial did not eventuate, and after a couple of breaks which Bevis wou’.d not take part in. Benzora was sent by himself, running the first two furlongs in 24secs. three in 36secs, and the five in 1.3. Benzora slowed up over the last furlong. Bevis was afterwards tried with Gail-, lard, and with a litfei delay they were got off together. Bevis went straight to, the- front, and ran a brilliant live furlongs, leading the big chestnut by seven or eight lengths at the finish in 1.1 4-5.

Acred and Euphonium were next out. and ran seven in 1.32, the last six occupying 1.19. Blue Peter, Danat. Thunderclap and Captain Gaze-ley were sent seven furlongs. Danae, with a big advantage in the weight, finished in front of Thunderclap. and Blue Peter with Captain Gazelev well back.

Silvormine did nice pace work on the new grass track, and Orazone similar work on the -No. 2 plough. Reremoa.na and Lady Cavendish jumped off at the five furlongs pov>i and covered three furlongs with the wind behind them in 35see. taking 1.2 for the full journey. Tip Tree was given three-quarter pace work, as a iso was Or cades. Palrtaga. and Bonogne were re.spoiis.bl© for a good gallop over five furlongs, finishing together in 1.2 1-5. Gleiigariff was given, three-quarter pace work, and will probably be. given a work out on Thursday morning. Lady Bentinck and Barryanda were companions over five furlongs, registering 1.3 2-5. The Lamb os task was a mile by himhelf and he did the job well, although carrying very little weight—running the first two furlongs in 27sec. He dapped on pace down the back .and dipped 2«ee off this time for the next two, making the half in 52, six in 1.18 and the mile in 1.44*-.

Euchre (Conway) and Lady Acre (Holman) did a round of the hurdles, both jumping well although Euchre goes as if he would like the going a, bit •softer.

Silent and Royal Acre covered five furlongs, finishing together in 1.3 4-5. Rational ran half a mile from the six furlong post .in 50see. Alan McCornrac was out on the course and will soon be- fit for work ■again. Skypoint was out exercising and appears to have shaken off a. slight, soreness that has kept him. off the tracks for a few days. Take Take did three-quarter pace work.
