In connection with the' inquiry under the Board of Trade Act into the operations of the Proprietary Articles Trade Association, 40 witnesses here heard, and the commission has accumulated a vast quantity of evidence regarding trade practices and prices from wholesalers, chemists, grocers, fancy goods dealers and political economists. The chairman of the commission, Mr J i W. Collins, remarked to your correspondent that there was hardly an avenue of questions which had not been explored. Council’s addresses are being heard on Friday, when the commission is expected to close. It will then prepare a. report for the Minister in charge of the Trade and Commerce Department.
