EXCITING INCIDENTS. TX NEW YORK HARBOUR. BY CABLE-i'ttESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRUiVi I Received 10.15 a.m. to-day. NEW YORK, Feb. 17. An unusually dense fog covered the north-eastern •coast of the United States fiom Northern New Jersey to Boston. Shipping in New York harbour is disorganised, the fog being so thick that observers at Ambrose lighthouse are unable to gee the huge silhouettes of four ocean liners which are due.-It is presumed that they have dropped chek anchors outside the harbour. Many river vessels have anchored, and the New York ferries are either greatly delayed or are not operating,, the '.after class including that- to the statue of Liberty. A ferryboat operating between Brooklyn and New York sideswiped a barge, causing intense excitement among the 300• passengers, but there were no injuries.. . ' ■'*.', Another ferry boat was .swept up the river bv the tide and narrowly averted crashing on to the sea, wall.
