MOTOR - CYCLING

NOTES.

Messrs W. J. Claringbold and W. A. Spragg went north yesterday to be present at the Taka.puna motor-cycle sports which were held to-day. ~ Moller passed through Hawera this week on his way to Auckland. Since his fall at the Ashhurst meeting, he has been in hospital, but is now completely recovered. He was scheduled to ride at Takapuna to-day and has intimated that he will also ride at Hawera.

Among the visiting riders who will bo keenly watched at the Hawera sports next Wednesday will be Herbert. He will be mounted on a specially built Indian machine. Everything has now been prepared for the' Hawera Club meeting on Wednesday. The track is in excellent order, and it is anticipated that for this year’s meeting it will be faster than ever before. The entries received have been very large, and it is pleasing to note the large number of “ cracks ” who have signified their intention of competing. The arrangement of the meeting to take place but a few days after the Takapuna meeting is a good one, as it ensures the appearance of the majority of the riders returning from that event. The entries received (published yesterday) are very large. The handicaps will be declared by Mr W. W. Davy on Monday.
