N.S.W. MINING DISPUTE.
NEW ZEALAND SHIPPING AFFECTED. (by telegraph—press association.) AUCKLAND, Feb. 10. In consequence of the strike of coal miners in New South Wales, the Union Steam Ship Company has ordered two of its steamers, the Kauri and the Kaituna. to be held at Auckland pending a settlement of the trouble. Th:i Kauri, which is at present unloading coal, wag bo have been despatched for Newcastle at noon to-mor-row to load coal for Auckland, but the company decided that it would be unwise to send her to an Australian coal port. She will therefore remain at Auckland until further orders. The Kaituna has been in port since October 9. but was to have been recommissioned and despatched for Westport at noon - to-morrow. The strike at Newcastle, however, caused the Kaponga to be diverted from Australia to Westport, and in thesei circumstances it has been deemed unnecessary to put the Kaituna into commission. The vessel will therefor,a remain in the stream.
