ANTI-RED CAMPAIGN. WARNING TO WU’S TROOPS. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—CQPYB.IGHI. Received 12.45 p.m. to-day. PEKING, Feb. 10. Marshal Chang Tso Lin has circularised his generals and allies, saying that General Feng Yuh Siaiig and General Cliiangkashek iiave Bolslievised China with the support of Soviet Russia, and various places had suffered the ravages of hostilities. The people of Honan and Hupeh had urged him to despatch troops to help to rid them, of the. Reds, hut owing to Honan being under the control of Marshal Wu Pei Fu, who had refused all offers of help, he could not comply. Marshal Wu Rei Fu, however, was unable to repulse the enemy, who were gradually gaining ground. He, therefore, was compelled to charge down upon the enemy in order to recapture the Wuhan district and to further advance on Honan and Canton. «

He will regard Marshal Wu Pei Fu’s troops stationed at Honan as friendly if they act in concert- _ with him, hut if they oppose his armies he will subdue them.

OTTAWA, Feb. 10. “Under the present conditions the Government feels that no- useful purpose can be served by the despatch of Canadian troops to China,” the Dominion Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. W. J. McKenzie King) stated in the House of Commons to-day. He said that if circumstances changed the Government would -probably consult Parliament in regard to Canada’s policy. MORE WARSHIPS LEAVE FOR. CHINA. Received 1.10 p.m. to-day. MALTA, Feb. 10. The gunboats Aphis and Ladybird and the destroyers Wanderer and Wolverine have left for China.
