PATEA HOSPITAL.
ADMINISTRATIVE WORK. MEETING OF THE BOARD. The monthly meeting of the Patea Hospital Board was held yesterday. There "were present: Messrs C. Honeyfield (chair). R. S. Scown, J. Alexander. 0. E. Johnston, W. H. Watkins, and W. G. Belton. The medical ,sux>erintendent (Dr. W. T. Simmonds) reported that patients admitted to the hospital during the month numbered 31 (12 males and 19 females). Discharges numbered 33 (16 and 17). One death had occurred. Patients remaining in hospital numbered 20 (eight males and 12 females). The 'sister ■ '4h charge (Sister M. Smith) reported that routine work at the hospital had been carried out isatisfactorilv during the month. The circular letter forwarded by the Depart ment of‘ Health recommending tlie organisation to be adopted in the event of an outbreak of influenza was received, and it was' decided to co-op-erate with other local .authorities of the district should the necessity for action arise. An. estimate of £45 10,s for painting rind staining work submitted by Messrs W. and P. McComisky was .approved, and authority was given for the- work, completion being required by (March 7.
