ELTHAM.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) BOROUGH COUNCIL. A special meeting of the Eltham Borough Council was held last night for the purpose of considering an application from Messrs Hallenstein Bros., ror the division of the shop in Bridge Street owned and occupied by them. The specification provided for the work to be done in wood, and the borough bv-laws provided for brick or concrete. 'The Mayor pointed out that as the building was of concrete and selfcontained, and there was no increased danger of a fire spreading from the building, and as there would, be no extra danger to those occupying the building, and as it had previously been allowed on several occasions, he saw no objection to the application being orranted, and he moved according Or McKay the . motion, which was carried.
