TOMORROW’S FETE.
AT KING EDWARD PARK. BOWLING AND TENNIS FUNDS. The big effort organised on behalf of the Park Bowling and Tennis Clubs’ funds will take place to-morrow, afternoon and evening, at the Park. The grounds will be a hive of industry, for there will be a fine array of stalls of various kinds all out to do ' business. Afternoon tea and soft drinks will be available all the time, and these are certain to be a popular section of the fete. The motor traders are putting on a parade of new cars, set off with original advertisements for which there will he prizes. There will be competitions for decorated motor vehicles, commercial and private motor cars. Good entries have been received, and there is certain to be a fine dislpay. The parade, which will leave the Winter Show Buildings at 1.39 p.m., will be one of the events of the afternoon. It will be beaded by the Highland Pipe Band. Children’s concerts and a maypole dance, items not often seen on a - programme, will be a distinct attraction, and in addition there will be items by a Hawera juvenile band and motor car slow races.
In the evening the pruoramme will be full of attractions. The band oroeession will leave the Winter Show Buildings at 7.30 p.m., and at the Park, in addition to a, series of selections bv the Municipal Band and Pipe Band. :t very attractive display of gymnastics will be nut on bv Mr E. I. Yearbury’s class. This will include rinb swinging with band accompaniment. Seven Maoris from Fraser Road, organised bv “Scotty.” will give an interesting and varied programme, songs, onartettes, chorus, hakas. etc.
