NO ADVICE WANTED.

CANADA CAN MANAGE HER OWN

AFFAIRS

BY CABLE--PRESS ASSOCIATION-COPYRIGHT. OTTAWA, Feb. 3. Speaking at a banquet in honour of tlje Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. Y\ . L. Mackenzie King), the Hon. E. Lapointe, Minister for Justice, said: “I canont see by what process of reasoning it could be argued that autonomy implies more military obligation. * Mav I even suggest that distiimuished' visitors would perhaps be better advised if they refrained from offering so much advice to the people of Canada as ,to how they should deal with matters' which are exclusively their own business. Autonomy means self-government in all matters, in problems of defence as in other questions. It is for the Parliament of Canada to decide.”
