NORMANBY NOTES.

(From Our Own Correspondent). HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY. There, was a fair attendance, at a meeting of the Norman by Horticultural Society, held last night. In the absence of the. president. Rev. H. Fletcher, Air E. Grant was voted to the chair. The, .secretary reported that replies had been received from most of the judges and stewards who had been asiked! to officiate, expressing their willingness to assist. It was resolved to ask Air,si AV. Gone to act as a steward in the cut flower section. The secretary also reported that m company with the president and Air B. C. Gibson, he had visited Eltham to inspect the benching used by the Eltham Horticultural Society to .stage their out flower exhibits. Oil account of the absence of the president and Air B. C. Gibson, it was decided xo leave the matter of new benching over until! the meeting next Friday night. The conditions, under which the Egmont Tourist Motor Compatuy were prepared to run a motor .service from Hawera. on the .second . day of the show were considered satisfactory, and it was decided to advertise fuller particulars later. Air C. C- Rasmussen, nurseryman, or Aramoho. wrote asking for space to stage; an exhibit of nursery stock. —His request was granted, and Messrs G. H. Alills and Duncan and Davies are also to, be invited to make a display. It wa, s left with Air B. C. Gibson and the secretary to procure the necessary medals for the Highland dancing. A meetino- of ladies who are willing to assist in the catering arrangements at the forthcoming show is to be called for next AVednesday afternoon. It was resolved that a meeting of the entertainment committee be called for next Friday niglvt t.o make arrangements for the concert and dance which is to he held on the second night of the show. . , . Further donations weer received from Mr and Airs C. Coxhead. The schedules for the forthcoming show are to hand, mid, judging by the number of inquiries for . them, competition in the various sections atthe show promises to b? keen. It was decided that the committee meet every Friday night! until the show is held.
