Won by three-quarters of a length, a length between second and third. Time 1.28 2-5. WAIWERA HTGHWEIGHT HANDICAP. Of 275 -sovs; one mde and a distance. 3 Kamehameha 1 5 Ngarara 2 2 Uralla (bracketed with Royal Form) 3 All started. Won by a .neck, a head between second and third. Time 2.27. DEVONPORT HANDICAP. Of 250 -sovs,; -seven furlongs. 5 Bright Down 1 2 Macroom 2 N 6 Judge’s Box 3 All started. Won by a neck, two and a half lengths between second and third. Time, 1.38 1-5. Scratchings for the Jockey Club Handicap; Muscari and Tliursby. AUSTRALIAN RACING. THE MOORFIELD HANDICAP. SYDNEY, Jan. 30. At the Moorefield the Moorefield Handicap resulted : Kurrianna 7.0 1, St. Eaton 8.13 2, Cherry Ripe (N.Z.) 7.2 3. The winner led all the way and won by two lengths, Cherry Ripe being two lengths away. Time, 2.7-5. ■ " . , During the running of the Kogarah Stakes, Licoris- fell and had to -he destroyed. His rider (McCurley) was badly injured. Bright Knight met with a mishap at the racecourse thi-s. morning. When starting out- for a six furlong sprint he collided with Monaghan about the five furlong -post, -sustaining a. heavy fall. He can be written out for the first day. The- attention of owners, and trainers is drawn to the fact that nominations for the Wanganui Jockey Club’s -autumn meeting to he held on February 17 and 18, will close- at eight o’clock this evening. In addition, forfeits for the Jackson Stakes close- at the same hour with the secretary, Mr. Wm. Hall, whose address is Po-st Office Box 15, Wanganui.
