PORTFOLIOS ANNOUNCED.

UNUSUAL COURSE. TWO APPOINTMENTS VETOED. BY CABLE —PRESS ASSOCIATION— COPYRIGHT BERLIN, Jan. 28. The new Cabinet consists .of Herr Marx, Chancellor and Minister fo Finance, Herr Koehler (Centre), Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dr Stresemann (German People’s Party), Min ister for Defence, Herr Gessler (Independent), Vice-Chancellor and Minister for the Interior, and Herr Hergt (German National), Minister for Justice. The portfolio of Communications and Agriculture have been secured by the German Nationals, Labour by the Centre, Economics by the German Feopie’s Party, and Telegraphs by the Bavarian People’s Party. BERLIN, Jan. 29.

President Hindenburg took an unusual step in vetoing the Cabinet appointment of Dr. Graef as Ministei of Justice owing to the Centre Party s strong representations. Several members. including Herr Wirtli, told Dr. Marx that reactionaries like Herr Hergt and Dr. Graef could not possess their confidence. They recalled that Dr. Graef,- when vice-president of the Reichstag, refused to be introduced to President Ebert. Dr. Marx is reshuffling the seats. BERLIN, Jan. 29. The official publication of the Cabinet has been postponed because the Coalition narties have not yet sanctioned it. * The Centre Party is objecting to the Nationalists, whose inclusion it regards as too reactionary, especially Hergt, the ardent monarchist. Nevertheless, it is stated that no change in foreign policy is likely. Dr. Marx and Dr. Stresemann are determined vigorously to follow their present plans. PARIS, Jan. 29. The newspapers unanimously hail the new German Cabinet as of the most reactionary political complexion of any since the war. BERLIN, Jan. 29. President Hindenburg also vetoed Herr and otherwise confirmed the Cabinet. Dr. Marx is resuming negotiations with the Nationalists, seeking renctionarv candidates.
