PERSONAL ITEMS.

Mr. C. E. Bellringer, M.P.. of New Plymouth, was a passenger for the south by this morning’s express. Mr F. .Lamb, a world’s champion cyeD rider over distances from one to nine mile" left bv the express tram this morning for Wanganui. Mr W. G . K. Wright, editor of the New Zealand Dairyman, is at present in Hawera. He is staying at the Central Hotel. Mr W. A. Hewitt has received advice that his daughter Freda was amongst the successful candidates at the recent university (Auckland) examination.

Messrs David Hull (New Plymouth) and J. W. Smith (Palmerston North), dairy produce experts of the Dairy Diyision of the Department of Agriculture) are at present in Hawera. They are staying at the Centra,' Hotel, and will leave for New Plymouth to-mor-row.

After visiting relatives *n Taranaki, and competing at the Caledonian Sports yesterday, Mr. Randolph Rose, the New Zealand distance runner, left for Wairarapa by the morning’s express. Whi.e in Hawera. he stayed at the Egmont Hotel. Mrs A. J. Luxton, who, with her six daughters and one son, has been spending the summer holidays at Ohawe beach and with relatives in South Taranaki. left by the mail train to-day for their home *at Waitoa, Thames Valley. A great record in longevity and in duration of married life has been made by Mr and Mrs George Hollard, formerly of Kaponga, and now of New Plymouth. They have been married G 4 years anil both were born in New Zealand. Mrs Hollard is now 85 and Mr Hollard 84 years old. Recent, visitors to Hawera, who .stayed at the White Hart Hotel, included Messrs J. Smith. W. Porter (Wat earn pa) , J. Pivheo, R. Knight and Mr. and Mrs. G. T. Withers (Wellington).

Mr. V. S. Tippett, of Normanby. who has been well known in athletic circles in Hawera. as a. cycle road racer, and who- won the big Palmerston North to Wellington amateur event, left Taranaki to-day for Christ eh nr eh, where he will make his home.
