And then came the astounding triumph—the lowering of the SydsteyBrisbane record, by 1 hour 16 minutes. " AND NOW AGAIN IN A CHRYSLER, HE HAS CAPTURED TWO NEW STARTLING RECORDS OF THE MAROUBRA TRACK, SYDNEY —1000 MILES IN 955 MINUTES. AND 1468 MILES IN 24 HOURS. To appreciate these records the Maroubra track needs to be known. But five-sixths of a mile in length, unscientifically built, and of very uneven surface, it is in no way comparable with high speed tracks in other parts of the world. This exacting test was conducted by officials of the Royal Automobile Club, who checked the performance lap by lap. That Chrysler leads In SPEED, STAMINA and ENDURANCE, is well demonstrated by the fact that over a continuous period of 15 hours an average speed of no less than 65 miles per hour was maintained, and that the last 18 laps were covered at the amazing finishing speed of over 71 miles per hour.
