THEATRICAL PERFORMANCES.

(To the Editor). .Sir,—l shall lie glad if you will give publicity to my complaint that the latecomers at theatrical performances in Hawera invariably «po.il the first act (or part of it) by their disregard of the comfort and enjoyment of others. The noise and bustle, not to .speak of occasional disputing of seats, _ caused by these unpunctual people being allowed to take their seats after the performance lias started, are distracting to many theatre-goers who like to enjoy tn . play and I must say that the women-kind are the worst offenders in this respect. Cannot the management of our local Opera. House improve matters by notifying the public that nobody will lie admitted after the performance has started, until the curtain is down. Perhaps you could suggest some other remedy.—l am. etc., THEATRE-GOER.
