WHERE IS FAWCETT-? ANXIETY AT HOME. LONDON. Jan. 11. “Where is Colonel P. 11. Fawcett?” asks the Daily News, which emphasises that the explorer’s last message was dated May 80, 1923. Prior to entering the Brazilian jungle. occupied by cave-dwelling cannibals. Colonel Fawcett, said:, “Don’t count on any more despatches, us recent trouble with the Indians makes communication precarious.” Five months still remain of the two veins during which Colonel iawcett told his friends not to worry, but the Royal Geographical Society is most anxious regal-ding him. Dr \Y. M. McGovern, the. well-known explorer, who has returned from Brazil, discovered no trace of Colonel Fawcett. and the society has told volunteers that it is not considering a relief expedition, as the location of the explorers in the jungle is almost an impossibility. With Colonel Fawcett are iiis 23 vear-olil son Jack and Air Raleigh fviniiiiel. aged 2years.
