Inquiries disclosed that two sparrow® sneltered aboard the American tourist steamer Carinthia when crossing the Australian v Bight. 'They were caught and released "V by a passenger when they reached Fremantle. The Agricultural Department is conducting, a wide search for the second bird. The introduction of the pest is regarded as a menace to the fruit industry.
