DAIRY PRODUCE.
EMPIRE RECIPROCITY SCHEME INTERESTING NEWS FROM SHEFFIELD. Publicity was given by the Sheffield Independent of October 15 last to the scheme initiated by Mr L. O. Hooker for spreading knowledge of New Zea'and dairy products among the people of the Old Land through the medium of the school children, acting in .reciprocity with those of the Dominion. Advice was sent to Sheffield of the intention to initiate the scheme among the schools of Sheffield, and the first notice of the project is given by that paper, a copy of which is just to hand. The extract is to the following effect:— “EMPIRE GOODS. NOVEL PUBLICITY SCHEME FOR CHILDREN. Sheffield school, children will shortly be receiving letters from . scholars in New Zealand under a scheme whereby New Zealand children will write 1o them, beginning with Sheffield, pointing out the advantages of New Zea'nnd produce, and asking English youngsters to do all possible to get-their parents to buy New Zealand produce. English children are asked to yvrite essays on the Dominion, and prizes consisting of New Zealand produce will be given to winners. Sheffield will also reply, pointing out the advantages of Sheffield goods.” 'The first batch of letters was despatched some time since. In this connection it will he of interest- to learn from a letter received from, the secretary of the Federation of British Industries, Sheffield, that he has undertaken to get into tc ueh with a director of education, and and also to .see if the federation would cooperate bv supplying the required literature describing Sheffield products, so as to .enable the children to sc cure a knowledge of them for purposes of writing their essays.
