The Consercatoriuni studienis now number I ret ween 1500 and 1600; and this number could he materially increased ii there were more accommodation. The institution, if) fact, is growing as the city grows. But at ore sc nt the accommodation i<- so severe.v taxed that there are not enough teaching-rooms, and it is becoming difficult to draft the timetables. ‘‘l am glad to say that the Oonservatorium scholarship list is growing, thanks to the generosity ot many citizens,’ said the Director. These schoar,ships are undoubtedly of immense value. In this way we have been able to assist many promising students, who would otherwise have been unable to continue their musical education. I trust that many more citizens will come to oux assistance in establishing scholarships.”
