$ Many friends will learn with regret of the death at Wellington of Mr. D. jYI. Aim, a former resident of Hawera for several years. Mrs. Aim is a daughter of Mr. Gould and a sister of Miss Gould land Mr. E. Gould. A London cable message reports the death of the well-known artist Mr Ambrose McEvoy, who was born in 1878. His works have been acquired by the Luxemburg Gallery, the National Gallery of British Art (Tate Gallery), the Municipal Gallery at Johannesburg, and many other galleries. In reporting the death of Mr J. T. Ward, F.R.A.S., a Press Association message from Wairoa states that the deceased went into the county hospital to be operated on for appendicitis, but peritonitis set in a few days later, and he passed away last night. He had been a resident of Wanganui for 30 years, and leaves a grown-up family of four sous and three daughters.
