MANAIA.
(From Our Own Correspondent..) PRESENTATION. At the aunual meeting of the Ladies’ Guild of St. Cuthbert’s Church, Manaia, the opportunity was taken to present Airs. T. Sutherland, who has acted as bon. secretary for a number of years, with a .silver fruit stand suitably engraved. The vicar, Rev. A. C. Swainson, spoke very highly of the great interest that Mrs Sutherland had always t-.kciF in the Guild and the amount of time she had devoted to it. He then e.wied upon Mrs D. Mitchell, as president of the Guild, to make the presentation. which slu- did in a few well chosen words. After Mrs Sutherland had returned thanks for the totally unexpected honour shown her, the entire company rose and sang “For She’s a Jolly Good .Fellow. ’ ’ The rest of the evening was spent in music, and games, after which a dainty supper was served by the hostess of the evening.
