OPERA HOUSE. TO-NIGHT AND' NEW YEAR’S NIGHT. “THE DANGER OF PARIS.” “The Dancer of Paris” lias an underlying theme of more than usual force. This is the battle of wits between the Dancer of Paris, as played by Miss Mackaill, and Sir Roy Martel, the English reprobate, portrayed by Robert Cain. Conway Tearle and Dorothy Mackaill, two of the screen's most popular stars, take the principal roles in Robert T. Kane’s “The Dancer of Paris,” the attraction at the Opera House to-night 'and to-omrrow night (New Year’s night). This is the first time that these players have appeared in the same film. “Thle Dancer of Paris” is the first of the Michael Arden stories to reach the screen. Elis constitutes a point of interest hardly second to the appearance of the two popular stars. The author of “The Green Hat” and “These Charming People” has been represented on the stage with great success, but it remained for Robert Kane to be the first .producer to film one of the most popular of his works. GRAND THEATRE. TO-NIGHT AND NEW YEAR’S NIGHT. “THAT’S MY BABY.”

To-night is laugh night at the Grand Theatre. Douglas Mac Lean will be seen in the role of chief merry-maker as the hero of a. brand-new Paramount farce-comedy with the popular title of “That’s My Baby.” Unlike many of the other current farces, “That’s My Baby,” has the novelty of n series of situations that are refreshly new. The irrespressible Mac Lean plays the role of an infatuated young man, who falls in love with a feminine ankle, starts a whirlwind courtship of the ankle’s lovely owner, only to find himself suddenly saddled with a strange baby at a time when he needs a baby about as much as he needs smallpox. Under William Beaudine’s capable direction, a notable supporting cast ably seconds the happy-go-lucky Mac Lean. Margaret. Morris makes a particularly attractive heroine. • and the work of Claude Gillingwater, Eugenie ‘ Forde, Wade Boteler, Richard Tucker and Fred Kelsey is exceptionally creditable. “That’s My Bajby” will be finlalJy screened tomorrow night, New Year’s Night. KAPONGA PICTURES—TO-NIGHT. ‘‘THE PONT EXPRESS.” “The Pony Express,” showing tonight. is a companion picture to “The Covered Waggon” and “The Iron Horse”; a thrilling romance of the American west before the days of railways, when news was carried by express riders through mountain, desert and hostile territory at the risk, of their lives. On .Monday night “Daring Days” will be screened. It is the story of the first woman mayor in a western town, a breezy, exciting story of original type.
