ENTERTAINMENTS.

OPERA HOUSE, TO-NIGHT. “THE GOLDEN STRAIN.” “The Golden Strain,” a new Eos Films production, based on a Peter B. Kyne story, whiob bad its first local showing last evening at the Opera House, is an unusually good picture. It is the story of a young army officer who was handicapped by a “yellow streak, ’ and how he was enabled to overcome his weakness when the supreme test came. One of the big dramatic climaxes is a thrilling battle scene in which the famous Tenth Cavalry clashes with several hundred Apache Indians on the warpath. Kenneth Harlan and Madge Bellamy have the leading roles with Hob art i3osworth, Ann Pennington iand a notable cast in support. Much of the action takes place near Fort Huachuca, Arizona, where the notorious Geronimo once ran amoek. “The Golden Strain” is the screen version of one of Kyne’s best stories and adds another to Victor Schertzinger's list of photoplay triumphs. Included in the supports is the serial “The Ace of Spades.” The programme will be finally screened tonight. KAPQNGA PICTURES., PROGRAMMES FOR NEW YEAR’S EVE.
