ACT CREATES EXCITEMENT IN DELHI. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. DELHI, Dec. 26. A dastardly communal outrage is reported. Swami Shradhandra, a wellknown leader, was assassinated by a Mahommedan, Abdul Rashid. .Swami was in bed convalescing and his servant allowed Rashid to enter on the pretext of discussing a religious point. When the servant was momentarily absent, the visitor tired five shots at Swami’s head and chest, killing him instantly. The servant, in attempting to protect the body of his master, was seriously wounded. The police have arrested the Assailant. Delhi is intensely excited over the crime, and all the sshops are closed. The crime will revive the communal discord, which has recently shown signs of dying out. Strong forces of police are patrolling the streets. Minor disorders resulted, in which five Hindus and one Moslem were injured.
