WOOL SALES. The Farmers’ Go-ope.ration Organisation Society oi New Zealand .repot ts having received the following oahue from its London .agents : ' ‘ \Yool isale closed to-day and prices compared with opening rates are about unchanged. LONDON WOOL SALES. Messrs Murray, Roberts and Co.. Ltd., are in receipt of the following wool market cablegram from their London agents:— “Sales have closed. Competition good. Bradford buyers princraptoperators- French buyers doing practically nothing; German buyers operating moderately. Compared with the opening rates of present London sales, superior greasy Merino and fine greasy Merino opening rates are barely maintained. Greasy Merino, medium to good, declined 5 per cent, to 7} per cent.; greasy Merino, inferior and faulty, declined 7\ to 10 per cent; scoured superior Merino advanced 5 per cent.; scoured Merino, medium to good, market shows no change; scoured merino carbonising declined 5 per cent.; small demand. Crossbred' greasy comeback and fine market very firm.; crossbred greasy medium and coarse opening rates are barely maintained. Selection of crossbred has been poor. Crdssibred scoured par to 5 per cent, decline: slip© crossbred fine, medium and coarse, par to 5 per cent, advance.” MEAT MARKETS. The Bank of New Zealand (stock department) reports as under:— “Prospects for wethers are more favourable. The market for ewes is quiet but firm. The market is short of sup-, plies of lamb and beef, and prices are nominal. Quotations were:—Wethers, isht 51 d to 6*{d per lb, heavy sd. to syd; ewes. 3yd to 4]d; lambs, 2’s 9Jd to 9£d, R’.s 83d to RJ-d, 4’s 7d‘ to 7Jd, seconds Bid to &*d.” HIDES AND SKINS. Dalgetv and Co. report as under: — We held our usual fortnightly sale of sheepskins, hides and tallow on Friday afternoon at Wellington, when -we submitted a moderate sized catalogue to a full attendance of exporters, tanners, fellmongers and the loca*'trade. Sheepskins.—We found values for fine and medium wools on a par with late .rates. Faulty, shabby and inferior lots were clown yd_ to Jd per lb. Salties were slightly easier. Hides. —There was a good demand for welVconditioned lots, prices for heavies, medium and light-weights be-ing-unchanged. Kip. vearlinc and calf came in for good competition, and were disposed of at rates slightly better than previous quotations. Tal’ow. —A weak market was met with, and prices were Is to Is fid per cwt lower than previous Quotations.
