IN MINING VILLAGES. AFTERMATH OF STRIKE * SAFETY REN FIRED ON. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. Received 12.30 p.m. to-day. LONDON, Dec. 14. The Evening News says : A vendetta, amounting to a reign of terror, exists in the West Lothian mining villages, Stoneyburn and Breich, against safetymen and the miners who resumed work before the conclusion of the coal strike. There have been -several attempts to blow up houses with explosives. Shops have been ransacked and children beaten. Gelignite was used to b’ow up Fou Ishie Ids colliery electric cable. Safe Lymen declare that they were twice fired at by revolvers from a swiftlypassing motor car. The outrages are so persistent that Stoneyburn has been nicked named “Moscow” and Breich “Siberia.”
