Owing to restrictions on the use of electricity, due to the Yallourn strike, which will come into force on Monday, factories in the metropolitan area, will have to be closed every .second day, rendering the unemployment greater than, was first- exacted. Jf the (strike continues far .into the new year, fresh restrictions, probably limiting the use of -curent- for domestic purposes, will be introduced. Members of the Trades’ Hall Council and representatives of several unions whose members are likely to suffer f'r«ni the cutting off of the supply of electricity, conferred with the officials of the Electricity Cbm mission, but failed to settle the dispute. .
