NEARLY A TRAGEDY.
ACCIDENT TO GREGORY’S FATHER BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. Received 2.30 p.m. to-day. SYDNEY, Dec. 13. The return home of the cricketer Jack Gregory nearly ended in a family tragedy. Gregory’s father, when attempting to board the steamer from a launch, fell into the water and disappeared. The cricketer’s brother jumped in and rescued him after some difficulty The father was not hurt.
