bereavement comforted. ~LONDON, Dec. 2. Following his father’s appeal to the King, the Imperial War Graves Commission has placed a headstone on the grave of Gunner Elsv, an‘artillery man, who, after having lost an eye in the war, was court-martialled for having struck a military policeman, and sentenced to 112 days' imprisonment. Elsey, while handcuffed, fell down a flight of steps, injuring one of his legs. He died after an operation.( The father alleged that his son was pushed down the steps.
