ON PARK GREEN. A challenge match for the buttons was played on Saturday, a- close result enabling the holders to retain the trophy. Scores were—Holders : Dillon, A. Grant. Crutch, Butler 22; challengers: Villa ns, Murdoch, Bilton, W. Grant IS. HAWERA GREEN. A match for possession of the buttons was played on Saturday, the holders retaining their position. Scores were as below —Holders: Maslin, Familton (sub.), Adamson, R,. Hicks 25; challengers: Wills, Burgess, W. Robertson, Car kill 19. This gives “Bob” his tenth win in this competition. In the pairs championship a, surprise was effected by ’ Hobbs and “Maxwell” Cummings who beat a strong pair in Dillon and Bull.
