A kiosk on the summit of Rangitoto has been mentioned as a desirable objective for the present work of the Rangitoto Domain Board 1 (saye the (Auckland Star). .Mr Elliscßm introduced the suggestion, and urged the necessity of such a structure for shelter to enthusiastic climbers. Mr Lamont, the chairman of the board, while agreeing with the proposal, thought that its value would be negatived by the long, unsheltered climb to the top.. Mr. Griffiths, engineer to the board, reported good progress with the. road at present being made by prison labour, and pointed out that, until that work was completed, it would be impossible to get building material; to the l proposed site. The board, after agreeing with' Mr Aldridge that no structure should ever be attempted on the apex of the cone, decided to leave the question of erection until funds and roadwav were favourable. “■"“TV I IN THE £ DISCOUNT.
