HAWERA DEFENCE RIFLE CLUB. The Hawera Defence Ride Club will continue the competitions at. the rang© to-morrow afternoon (Saturday), when the .second round for the president s trophy will he fired. In the past, the South Taranaki Clubs have been greatly handicapped by being unable to obtain practice at the long ranges. This has been ap parent when members have attended rilie association meetings in other districts. Arrangements between the Hawera, Manutahi, and Pate a Clubs have now been completed for the laying off of a range up to 1030 yards on Mr. T. Geary’s property at Manutahi. where the combined clubs will hold occasional long range competitions. The work is now in progress, and the range should he available for use at an early chi to. .
