MAORIS HAVE EASY WTN. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT. Received 10.35 a.m. to-day. PARIS, Dec. 9. The Maoris heat Limoges by 34 points to 7. T’iie Maoris dominated their opponents who were drawn from three local clubs—Limousit, Pegigord and Ogen. The visitors made excellent use of the fine weather and dry turf, and showed great speed. They won the match in the first few minutes, in which a- forward rush resulted in a try, alter which Pelham secured two tries. Phillips also speedily scored, and the fifth try rapidly followed. Four were converted. Limoges rallied and desperately attacked, carrying the ball within three yards of the Maori line, but the visitors’ three-quarters broke away, and Falwasser securing ran the length of the field and scored. At half-time the score was 26 —0. The French defence improved in the second half. They countered many rushes, but their attacks failed badly owing to the weakness of the threequarters. However, their opponents once circumvented the Maori backs and scored an unconverted try in the corner, which with a dropped goal alone redeemed them from annihilation. The Maoris slowed up and were content with two tries, one of which was converted.-
The Maori team was: Falwasser, Pelham, Grace, Wineera, Mete, Kingi, Bell, Olsen, Dennis, Crawford, Wilson, Matene, Manihera and Tatana.
