COW JUDGING.
SCHOOL. COMPETITION. AT STR ATFORD SHOW. The results of the competitions at tjhe Stratford A. and P. Show last week have been made available. Mr. E. Griffiths, judge of the secondary schools Jersey _ competition, returned the cards with the following oovering letter: “The excellent cards put in by many of the pupils show what an intelligent interest is being taken, by them in their efforts to become good judges of a typical Jersey cow. A surprisingly large number of cards reflect credit upon' the children who filled them in, and it hag been a difficult task placing the successful competitors in their order of merit.—l have to a. large extent ignored “points” by the children, preferring rather to give more attention, to the “remarks,” which really are the better indication of a child’s knowledge.” The results were: Junior Friesian. —D.
