DECISION SHORTLY. CRITICAL TIMES IN RUMANIA. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION- COPYRIG ti! Received 1.20 p.m. to-day. BUCHAREST, Dec. 2. The arrival of Dr. Hartmann tomorrow . and Queen Marie on Saturday is likely to decide the issue—peace or war in Rumania. Dr. Hartmann’s examination will decide whether the King will abdicate or try to carry on, after which the Queen will settle the Regency question. The country is bitterlv divided concerning the Regency. General Mirescu, War Minister, who is believed to be too sympathetic towards Prince Carol’s laims, has been sent on a prolonged tour of .Bessarabia for fear that he might use his influence on the army in Prince Carol’s favour. M. Avarescu, the Pimer Minister, is taking over the War Office for the meantime. M. Bratianu. Liberal leaden and the man behind the throne, says that Prince Carol’s return is a dead issue. His renunciation has been accepted by the Government, Parliament and the Kins, who has written to M. Avarescu saying that he will not tolerate Prince Carol’s return.
PARIS MEETING DENTED. Received 1.20 p.m. to-day. PARIS, Dec. 2. The reported meeting of Queen Marie and Prince Carlo is denied.
