ORCHESTRAL SOCIETY.
SEASON’S LAST CONCERT TO-NIGHT. The conciuding rehearsal of the Orchestral Society last night proved that Hawera has in .store for to-night a musical treat, when the last concert of the season of the society will bo given at tile Opera House. The orchestral selections will comprise several not heard previously in Hawera, and will be a real delight. “La Boheme,” “Raymond” overture, and the Mendelssohn numbers are certain to be very popular. The. orchestra lias been strengthened since its last performance and is playing better than ever. The assisting soloist will be Air. Harisen Cook, tlie great basso who created a favourable impression when lie sang here some months ago. He will be heard in some of his best songs, and in one, a dramatic number, “Through Bitter Wrong,’ ’ he will have full orchestral accompaniment. Another line number will be the great Mephistopheles song from Faust. The programme will be full of attraction and will form one of the best given by the society. Patrons should book their seats, as the box plan is nearly full.
