(From Our Own Correspondent.) PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH BAZAAR The annual church bazaar was held in the Town Hall on Friday afternoon, and evening. Fortunately the weather proved line after the threatening .morning. Visitors were present from Hawera, Okaiawa and outlying districts. The bazaar was officially o[>ened by the Rev. R. F. Evans, of Hawera, who spoke in eulogistic terms of the June display of work, and the artistic manner in which the various stalls weie arranged. Mrs. Fletcher, who was supervisor, hail the assistance of the following ladies and gentlemen - Plain sewing stall, Mesdames Aleuli, J. Edwards and Beaton ; produce stall, Mesdames IX Frei and E. Giant ; sweet stall. Misses Kilvingston and Head; artificial flowers,. Miss Barbara Campbell; Christmas tree. Mrs. G. Galloway; bran tub, Mrs. J. A. Archbold; busy bees’ stall, Misses Fletcher, Beaton* Gane ami Campbell. The young ladies on the last-named stall deserve a. special word of praise, as all of the articles were made on Saturday afterafternoons end were a credit to then;. There was also a nice display of artificial flowers made by Alias ter Ronald Thrush. The Aunt Sally was in charge of Mr. A. Paine, and the shooting gallery' was run by Mr. J. A. Archbold, both doing a business. The weight guessing of a Xmas cake made by Mrs F. Riddle was in charge of Airs, a.iul Alias Briscoe. It weighed lllbs 12i}oz, won by Aliss Clements, who guessed 11 lb 12oz. There was a guessing competition as to the length of a piece of wire. This was won by Air. Box, who guessed the correct length, lift 6ins. The nail-driving was won by Mr. Beaton, and the same gentleman was also successful in the candle lighting, having lit 20 candles with one match. A very dainty afternoon tea and supper was served in the supper room, the tables and room both being nicely decorated. Alesdames Beaven, Kellett Linn and Thrush were in attendance and were kept busy both in the afternoon and evening. \

The total proceeds will be over £SO, which is a substantial increase on last year’s takings, and both organisers and workers are to be congratulated on their efforts.
