KILLED WHILE FALLING A TREE. (by telegraph—press association.) AUCKLAND, Nov. 21. William James Lewis, a resident of Eden Terrace, while engaged with his son in falling a tree, was struck on the neck by a limb when the tree dropped. A fracture of the spine caused almost instant death. His son Stanley was thrown, against the fence in an unconscious condition. When he recovered he found that his father was dead. CHILD FATALLY INJURED. WELLINGTON, Nov. 22. Jack Pickles, a child years of age. was knocked down by a motor-car last evening at the esplanade crossing in Petone. He died in hospital from concussion of the brain and other injuries. The child, it was understood, walked behind another car and the driver could not see him.
