RUMOURS OF REVOLT. VILLA’S MEN IN ARMS. •SMUGGLED AMMUNITION. BY CABLE—PEES? ASSOCIATION—COPY EIGHT. Received 11.5 a.m. to-day. NEW YORK, Nov. 14. According to despatches from. El Paso, despite emphatic official denials, rumours were persisted on Sunday to the effect that a serious revolutionary movement was developing along the northern border of Mexico and in tho State of Chihuahua. General Nicolas Hernandez, ex-eliief of staff of the late Paneho Villa, is reported to have crossed the border accompanied by fifteen of Villa’s old followers, carrying machine guns, am munition and rifles.
It is feared that the force will grow to large proportions. Thousands of Villa’s sympathisers kept their rifles when disbanded, and need only ammunition to be equipped for action. It is believed that 23,-000 rounds of rifle ammunition, seized at Nuevo Oaredo, were smuggled from the United States.
